Mathura this beautiful city is situated in west bank of River Yamuna, Uttar Pradesh about 88miles far from Delhi and 29.2 miles far from Agra. The climate there is tropical. Mathura also known as Brajbhoomi, this is the place where Lord Krishna born. Lord Krishna is a popular deity among the Hindu holy pantheon. In the year 1874, this beautiful museum was being made by the district collector of Mathura, Mr. F. S. Growse. This museum has a collection of historic antiques things like stone sculptures, architectural fragments, inscriptions, pottery pieces, inscribed bricks, bronze objects, clay seals, paintings and lots of gold coins collected by the well known archaeologists Fuhrer, Cunnigham, and Growse. The most of the collection there are of 3rd to 12th century of Mathura school.
Shri Krishna Janmbhoomi known as birthplace of Lord Krishna an important shrine for pilgrims of the Hindu. According to the Hindus legends this is the place the oppressor ruler Kans makes the Vasudev and Devaki his prisoner in a small prison room due to of a divine voice that said that the 8th child of devki will kill you. Here Mata Devki had born his 8th child “Lord Krishna” avatar of Lord Vishnu.
Kusum Sarovar is the tourist attractions place in Mathura On the bank of this river there is beautiful tree of Kadamb accordingly to the legends this tree was the favorite one of Lord Krishna. And it is believed that at this place Gopis chosen flowers for Lord Krishna. Kusum Sarover is about 18meters depth and 137meters long in size.
